What Yara Training & Qualifications do I need to get on site?

Yara Pilbara has categorised Business Partner training requirements into 3 types and all training requirements are predefined and linked to the available ‘worker roles’ within the system.

    Online training/eLearning (including inductions)

These online training courses can be booked and completed within the Business Partner Management Solution. Many of these require mandatory completion PRIOR to accessing site and include

Yara delivered on site training (site based/face to face)

    External Worker Qualifications

These are formal qualifications / licences issued by relevant bodies (government or regulatory body, RTO etc) that Yara Pilbara have determined as required to perform certain work on site.
These requirements are predefined and linked to the available ‘worker roles’ within the system.

    For example:
    – An electrician will be required to provide a copy of their valid Electrical Licence that meets Yara’s acceptance criteria.
    – An intermediate rigger will be required to provide a copy of their High Risk Work Licence category RI that meets Yara’s acceptance criteria.

How long are inductions valid for?

    • Yara Induction - 2 years
    • Yara TAN Plant Induction - 2 years
    • Yara Visitor Induction - 6 months
    • Yara TAN Carrier - 2 years

What is a Dangerous Goods Card and why do I need it?

Under the Dangerous Goods Safety (Security Sensitive Ammonium Nitrate) Regulations 2007, the Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC) is required PRIOR to gaining UNSUPERVISED SSAN ACCESS at the TAN PLANT.
This means if you a required to work without constant Yara supervision within the TAN Plant you will require this competency.
This competency is issued by the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety and further information can be located on their website here.

    Exemptions
A Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC) exemption may be granted to an individual who
    – has a limited site visit of 28 days or less and will be attending the site four times or less in a twelve-month period.
    – has applied for a DGSC and not yet received the card.
An exemption is valid for a maximum of 90 days.
Exemptions of this kind shall be determined on a case-by-case basis and requires the approval of a Qualified Yara Site Manager.

More about the Site Access Request Form

The last step to get onto site is to complete Yara’s Site Access Request Form.
This form must be submitted to your Yara responsible person at least 24 hours prior to accessing site to ensure sufficient time for any required checks and approvals to be gained.
Your workers will not be granted access to site without this form.

Why do I need to provide my photo?

Physical cards, eCards, and the Workforce Mobile App will display your image alongside your name and unique profile ID. When accessing the site, our clients and/or their security representatives can match your face to your profile, ensuring the correct person is accessing the site and that they are compliant and authorized to do so.

Why do I need to provide my date of birth?

Your date of birth is used to differentiate you from another worker with the same name. The combination of your name and date of birth ensures your Avetta profile stays unique to your records, so even if you change companies and start working for other clients, you can take your records with you.

Why do I need to provide my phone number?

eCards and invitations to use the Workforce Mobile App are distributed via a Short Message Service (SMS) which can only be delivered to a mobile phone. Clients can also use this system to send important notifications through a broadcasting service.

Why do I need to provide my email?

Invitations to complete client-required orientations, inductions, and training courses hosted in the Avetta Learning Management System (LMS) will be sent directly to your email address. System notifications, including expiry notifications and requests to renew your training and competency requirements will also be directed to your email.

Why do I need to provide my gender?

This is an optional field to enter for yourself or your workers. You have the option to select Prefer, not to say. This field enables businesses to report how they compare to others in their sector and of a similar size. This information is used to help organizations identify where they are doing well and where they need to improve.
